Wolverine 3 Will Be R-Rated

‘Wolverine 3’ has begun shooting… and it’s aiming for an R-Rating.

According to ‘X-Men’ producer Simon Kinberg, the upcoming ‘Wolverine’ spin-off movie will be R-Rated… and will give us a very different Wolverine.

“It takes place in the future,” he told the folks at Collider. “And as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a Western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”

It’s been rumoured for some time that ‘Wolverine 3’ would adapt the ‘Old Man Logan’ comic book series for the big screen… and with hints towards the film’s ‘future setting’ it looks as though that may, actually be happening.

That, and the film’s very different setting.

“It’s a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies.”

‘Wolverine: Old Man Logan’ was written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steve McNiven.

Set over fifty years in the future, ‘Old Man Logan’ follows the story of a much older Wolverine, after the United States has been conquered and divided by supervillains. Heroes have been all but wiped from existence… and it’s up to Wolverine to fight back.

Unfortunately, none of this has been officially confirmed for ‘Wolverine 3’… but with Simon Kinberg’s latest comments, it’s all pointing to an ‘Old Man Logan’ movie.

And these aren’t the only rumours we’ve seen…

“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that,” he said about Sir Patrick Stewart returning as Professor X. “I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film.”

Will Hugh Jackman reteam with Patrick Stewart for his final ‘X-Men’ outing?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Wolverine 3’ heads to cinemas on 2 March 2017.
