"Winnie the Pooh's" author biopic releases first look photos

30 Sep – Fox Searchlight Pictures has released the first look photos for its upcoming biopic on "Winnie the Pooh" author, A.A. Milne.

The photos, revealed via USA Today, show how main cast Domnhall Gleeson ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens"), as the author, and Margot Robbie ("Suicide Squad"), as his wife Daphne, will look like in the movie.

Also starring in the movie are newcomer Will Tilston as young Christopher Robin and Kelly Macdonald ("Boardwalk Empire") as his nanny Olive.

Previously known as "Goodbye Christopher Robin", the biopic is currently officially untitled and goes by the working title of "The Untitled A.A. Milne Project".

The movie will focus on the father-son relationship of Milne and Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the author to pen the stories about a bear named Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. As the stories become more popular after WWI, the Milne family, along with their nanny, find themselves having to learn to navigate their newfound fame.

Directed by Simon Curtis, filming has begun on location in Oxfordshire, Surrey, East Sussex and London, though the movie has yet to receive a release date.

This will not be the only live-action adaptation based on "Winnie the Pooh"; while Fox's movie will focus on the author of the popular children's stories, it was reported last year that Disney is also coming up with its own adaptation which will focus more on a grown-up Christopher Robin returning to meet his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.
