A visit to the UK wouldn’t be a visit to the UK without going to see some of its royal hot spots.

Obvious choices would be the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey, especially for tourists who’d rather not stray from London.

Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in Windsor, however, a greater number of tourists are choosing to travel that extra hour to visit the historical town.

In fact, since the wedding aired in May, bookings to visit Windsor Castle have rocketed by 92%, making it the most popular summer family attraction in the UK this year.

Isango! gathered data from more than 1,000 of its customers to find out what UK summer experiences are most popular this year.

Windsor Castle topped the list, Elle reported, followed by the London “hop on hop off” bus tour, the Tower of London, Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland and a cruise along the River Thames.

The same happened back in 2011 when Kate Middleton and Prince William were married at Westminster Abbey.

According to The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (Alva), the Abbey welcomed almost 1.9 million guests in 2011, a 36% rise on 2010.

The Telegraph reported that it also entered the top 10 of Britain’s most-visited attractions for the first time.
