William So shares experience welcoming first baby

28 Mar - Cantopop singer William So recently kept his promise to share more details about his newborn son, when he accepted an interview and gave the first look at his son and into his new life as a father.

As reported on Mingpao, William, whose son was born on 20 March, shared that he and wife Anita have decided to give their son the English name Jazz because of his love for the music genre.

He couldn't help but smile when told that the baby looked like him, saying, "Of course he looks like me. Or else, we're going to have a lot of problem! But it's difficult to say whether he will still look like me ten years from now."

William also proudly shared that he was with his wife during the birth process, and had the opportunity to cut the umbilical cord himself.

"I wasn't nervous at all. It felt like the drama, "Healing Hands". I use one hand to hold the phone, and one hand to cut with the scissor. The nurses said that the father usually had to do it two times before it was cut, but I just did it at one go," he declared.

Describing the experience as unforgettable, the 49 year-old William admitted that he never thought that he would be able to have a child at his age.

"I just hope that my son will be an obedient child. I will be happy just to have a healthy child. I had once thought to retire from showbiz in five years' time. But now that my son is here, I think it's necessary for me to work another 20 years," he said.
