William So launches song as Andy Hui scandal dies down

1 Jan – After halting its release for many months, William So finally launched his new single "Inconvenience" this week.

According to Mingpao, the song, which tells the story of a man and a woman having an affair, was originally scheduled to be released earlier in 2019 with a different title. William reportedly has even filmed the music video and was ready for the launch.

However, the singer decided to postpone the release after good friend Andy Hui was caught cheating on wife Sammi Cheng with TVB actress Jacqueline Wong last April.

Eight months after the scandal, William renamed the song and rewrote the lyrics, re-filmed the music video and launched it before the end of 2019.

"The content of the song is important. Now it's more about a person who doesn't think his or her new boyfriend pleasing to the eye," he said.

Asked about the current situation with good friend Andy Hui, William said that he had dinner with the singer and his wife earlier before Christmas.

"Andy looked healthy. I hope that he will return to work as soon as possible," he said.
