Will Ferrell might play Kanye West in biopic approved by rapper

Will Ferrell is set to push his acting skills to the limit as he’s reportedly in talk to play Kanye West in a biopic that’s been approved by the rapper.

West allegedly wants the film of his life to be an all out comedy, and he’s already been talking and exchanging ideas about it with the 49-year-old.

According to a source from the Daily Star (via Metro) who is a close friend of Kanye’s, the musician has “been thinking about this for a long, long time and he has been trading ideas with Will.”

“Rather than take himself too seriously, he feels it has to be a comedy and not a preachy film,” the insider continued.

Kanye West isn’t just interested in Will Ferrell for the film, though, because he also wants comedy heavyweight director Adam McKay to oversee it. Especially since McKay previously worked with Ferrell at ‘Saturday Night Live’ and on ‘Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy’, ’Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’, ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby’, ‘The Other Guys’, and ‘Step Brothers’, too.

Will Ferrell and Kanye West previously worked together on 2013’s ‘Anchorman 2’, with the rapper popping up as MTV’s Wesley Jackson in its huge news anchor battle.

This clearly started a bromance between the duo. Then back in September Kanye not only told W that Ferrell was “one of my personal Gods” but added, “I would like Will Ferrell to play me in The Kanye West Story. Can you make that happen?”

Clearly Kanye cut out the middle-man and made it happen himself. Now the big question is who will play Kim Kardashian? Surely it can only be John C. Reilly.
