Wicked Grill: Get Your Fill Of Meat At This All-You-Can-Eat Steak Buffet In Katong For Only S$29.80

Tanjong Katong was my hood in secondary school and there’s no denying the surplus of great food in the area. I graduated and life started to get in the way and somehow, I haven’t quite made it back as often.

That was until I heard about the steak buffet at Wicked Grill. The grill house has taken over the famous Naughty Nuri’s (yupp, the delicious ribs from Bali) spot on a corner of Tanjong Katong Road, serving up great steaks and meat platters.

Put the words ‘unlimited’ and ‘steak’ together and it just seems too good to be true. I promise you though that this is a real thing that happens every Saturday and Sunday at Wicked Grill during its lunch service (11am – 2.30pm).

The all-you-can-eat buffet gives you 90 minutes to gorge on not just steak, but a whole slew of other meats and sides as well! It’s basically a meat buffet.

For only $29.80 nett, get your fill from the spread that includes steak, chicken, fish, a whole load of sides and the latest addition of pork ribs.

Do note that the buffet will not be served platter style (as pictured). You basically order as many servings of the items that you want from the menu and they will be served accordingly.

I started with the steak, which is Australian 100 Day Grass-fed Ribeye. It’s cooked to your preferred doneness and served with a knob of butter.

With a steak buffet priced so reasonably, I really wasn’t expecting much in terms of quality. Wicked Grill more than delivered with a tender, juicy and generous cut that was well-seasoned.

I would definitely go back just to order round after round of steak.

The St. Louis Balinese Style Pork Ribs are a new addition to the buffet menu, and they were one of the best ribs that I’ve tried in Singapore. The meat was falling off the bone and paired perfectly with the tangy Balinese barbecue sauce.

That same Balinese sauce which tasted a little like kicap, complemented the Grilled Chicken as well. Choose to have your chicken with various marinades like black pepper and even an American BBQ sauce.

You’ll be happy to know that Wicked Grill’s Steak Buffet also includes unlimited portions of Dory Fish, if the meat offerings get a bit much. The Black Pepper Dory Fish was pretty decent (and large), but I’d still rather order the steak.

Different dipping sauces are available to enjoy with the various meats: Classic Red Wine Sauce, Wholegrain Mustard Sauce, Creamy Mushroom Sauce and Black Pepper. The red wine sauce really stood out as it tasted quite boozy and highlighted the natural flavours of the steak.

I’d tell you to just go straight for the meats but I know some people don’t share quite the same carnivorous nature. Complete your meal with sides galore – these aren’t even all the choices!

I particularly enjoyed the truffle fries, grilled pencil asparagus, onion rings and mac & cheese, so maybe try starting with those options.

Besides the Steak Buffet, Wicked Grill also features an excellent selection of Western food on the a la carte menu. If for whatever reason you can’t make it for the buffet, go for dinner and order the Thick Cut Bacon Cheeseburger with fries ($9.50).

That’s such a small price to pay for a juicy and hearty burger that was served with crispy (and thankfully substantial) bacon. The patty itself was made with quality beef and wasn’t too salty, even with the addition of bacon.

The whole idea of this Steak Buffet is just pretty epic, and my only hope is that Wicked Grill can cope with the demand. The buffet is reservations only, and you have to secure a spot through the Facebook page.

If the lunch buffet sounds like too much of a challenge, go for dinner instead and order some of the popular platters, which will be served more or less like the picture above.

Jio all the meat lovers in your life!
