Yum Sing!

Situated in a conserved historical landmark by the Singapore River, Yum Sing! offers up modern interpretations of authentic Singaporean heritage food.

The modern casual dining concept pays homage to Singapore’s New World Amusement Park with its decor. Besides serving up fantastic food, the establishment also has a retail boutique for locally-made F&B products.

Some must-try dishes include the classic Hainanese Chicken Rice ($10), Nasi Lemak ($10), and “Moonlight” Dried Beef Hor Fun ($10). End your meal on a high note with traditional desserts like Chendol and Cheng Tng for $6 each.

You could also indulge in delicious locally-inspired cocktails like Kopi-O Gao ($20) and Kaya Toast ($18).

The Hainan Story

The Hainan Story opens a second outlet, this time in a more central location — Hotel Boss.

As its name suggests, the restaurant’s mainstays are Hainanese-style food like Lamb Stew with Rice ($11.80), Laksa with Hainanese Steamed Chicken ($8.50), and Hainanese Claypot Ee-fu Noodle Soup ($8.50).

Be sure to make a beeline for the restaurant's baked treats as well. Expect to savour British Hainanese Swiss, British Hainanese Butter Cake, and Asian-inspired cookies.

Wanton Seng’s Eating House

Another establishment expanding its list of outlets, Wanton Seng’s new Millenia Walk branch, includes contemporary items like HK Seafood Noodle Soup ($14.80), Four Egg Noodles ($14.80), and Mala Mince Meat Noodles ($9.80).

If you’re dining in a group, be sure to get classic sides like Pork Wanton Dumplings ($8) or a platter of Honey Glazed BBQ Baby Back Ribs ($28).

Refreshing tea-based cocktails are also available starting at $10 for Ju Hua Highballs, Oolong Sour, and Jasmine Sangria during happy hour.

Clos Pasoh

Former BBR by Alain Duccase chef Louis Pacquelin opened a contemporary French brasserie named Clos Pasoh on Amoy Street with entrepreneur Jean-Christophe Cadoret.

The duo pays homage to both French and Singaporean cultures through the restaurant’s food and decor. The 50-seat indoor area features dining chairs handmade by Singapore designer Ong Shunmugam and gorgeous wallpaper from French fabric designer Pierre Frey.

Tuck into classic French dishes like Duck Rilettes ($18), Boeuf aux échalotes

($48), and Canard à l'Orange ($42).

The restaurant also has an expansive selection of wines in a variety of styles.

Fukui

If you’re looking for a brand new spot for a romantic date night, consider heading down to Fukui.

Set within a traditional shophouse, Fukui’s interiors are reminiscent of a ryokan. The omakase-style restaurant creates menus depending on seasonal ingredients available.

Lunch sets start at $88++ for six courses and $188++ for a seven-course dinner menu.

Part of the Les Amis Group, Kitch is a new cloud kitchen concept that provides takeaway and islandwide delivery from a central location in Serangoon Gardens.
