People across the UK have been adapting to living amid the coronavirus pandemic over the last 10 months.

As we are now in Lockdown 3.0, prime minister Boris Johnson has once again urged everyone to “stay at home, protect the NHS, and save lives”, and during this time indoors people have been taking up new hobbies.

During the first lockdown back in March 2019, some turned to baking banana bread, completing jigsaw puzzles and trying out other arts and crafts, such as tie dye or making non-medical face coverings.

We have learnt to invest some time in ourselves and as we navigate a third period of staying home, people are once again looking for ways to keep themselves occupied and make their homes more comfortable.

John Lewis & Partners has seen a surge in sales of home appliances, beauty buys, self-care essentials and fitness equipment, especially in the most recent lockdown, according to a recent report.

For those looking to take up a new hobby, learn a new skill or refine their talents, but who aren’t sure where to begin, John Lewis’ report offers some inspiration.
