Season 3 of Westworld to film in Singapore

HBO has confirmed that the sci-fi TV hit series, Westworld, will be filmed in Singapore for its upcoming third season, a HBO spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore. HBO did not say when filming would occur, or which locations they would shoot in. However, a local casting call for Westworld indicates that the show will at least be shooting on location from 1 July to 9 July.

Doctors find hundreds of bubble tea balls in teenage girls stomach

A teenage girl in China complained of severe constipation for five days before finding out, after hospitalisation and having her stomach scanned, that she had hundreds of undigested tapioca balls from her bubble tea habit. While she claimed that she only had one cup of bubble tea, her doctor has called her bluff saying that she must have had a significant amount over a short period to have that many balls blocking her GI tract.

Pomelo opens standalone store in Singapore

Many online brands seem to be flipping the script and opening brick-and-mortar stores now, to maximise traditional retail opportunities and increase brand awareness on-ground. One example is omnichannel fashion brand Pomelo. Launched in Asia in 2013, Pomelo only had a website and social media presence. But yesterday, they’ve marked retail presence with a 6,000 sq ft store at 313@Somerset along Orchard Road.

Five Guys partner with Zouk Singapore

Fans of the fast food chain Five Guys, hold on to your horses! They ARE coming, but they’ll only be here later this year, with dates and location yet to be disclosed. Their local franchise partner is Zouk Group, although with the group already fairly established in F&B, apart from the club business, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine them being natural allies aiming to claim a footing in the fast food industry here.

Increasing red meat intakes increases risk of death

Researchers in a US has found a link between higher red meat consumption - especially processed red meat - and a increased occurence of death; suggesting that cutting down on red meat and consuming more plant-based foods will be more beneficial for health. The research is led by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health looked at data gathered from 81,469 health care professionals, over a period of at least 16 years.
