16 Jul - Wendell Ramos recently expressed hope that more people will follow his example and undergo training as firefighters.
As reported on Inquirer, the actor who passed his firefighting training with Ang Bumbero ng Pilipinas (ABP) last month, said this during an interview with "Unang Hirit", saying that he didn't make that decision just to be talked about, but to encourage others as well.
Ramos said that while others found new interests like cooking, planting, or even TikTok, it is also important to have more people doing something that could benefit the public during the pandemic.
"Firefighting is not only about putting out fires and rescuing. It also includes cleaning, which is very important right now. Cleaning the streets and giving water supply are especially significant these days," he said.
At the same time, the actor admitted that he has always wanted to become a firefighter since he was a child and was happy to be able to fulfil the dream.
