A Fear of Monsters

Growing up, we’ve heard our fair share of women in white with hair down their backs that cackle like banshees. Or men covered in oil that sneak into your house when you’re asleep. ‘State of Motion – A Fear of Monsters’ looks into the histories of these tales, with a film history exhibition that isn’t for the faint of heart.

Film on a Rooftop 

Nothing’s more relaxing than watching a movie after a long week. And that’s exactly what Open Air Film Club offers. At the alfresco screening, you can sit back and snuggle up with your loved ones while you munch on popcorn under the stars.

Michelin Guide Street Food Festival

Back for a third edition with a new line-up at Resorts World Sentosa, this Michelin street food fest offers cuisine whipped up by chefs from 15 different establishments, including Tai Wah Pork Noodle, Burnt Ends, Shisen Hanten, and Toritama Shirokane. With plates starting from $3, you can try dishes like bak chor mee, curry puffs, skewers and more.

Lo-fi house to drink to

Get wavy at Ann Siang Hill’s record store/bar White Label in a night dedicated to lo-fi house music. No homework needed for your studies — just pure, reverb-heavy bliss and chill vibes. Aesthetics not included.

Open House at The National Gallery

As part of this year’s Light to Night Festival, the National Gallery opens its doors to all exhibits till late this weekend.

WOW! Bulan

Baghdad Street is set to be packed this weekend for WOW! Bulan’s first-ever street market event, with over 20 flea stores lining the streets selling apparels, accessories, and good food. Performances and activities will also take place to keep you entertained.

Saturday, Feb 23

Do the Hustle

Head down to Nineteen80 for a blast from the past. With DJs Ollie’des and Biggie Bobos playing songs from the ’80s to the ’00s, grab a bunch of your friends to dance to music from the good ol’ days.

Every Sat till end of Mar; 9pm-late at Nineteen80. After 10pm $18, includes one drink.

Musher at Bar Rouge

The Malaysian DJ will be spinning beats to dance the night away to. Sip on drinks while you listen to his legendary playlist all night long.

Music@Empress

Unwind with some jazzy tunes by local acts Steve McQueens and The Shanghai Jazz Club, while you relax and sip on a drink or two.

Organic Farmers’ Market

If you’re a health fanatic or you just like eating clean, finding produce that’s as natural as possible can be really difficult. So if you’d like, swing by this organic farmers’ market in town for fresh vegetables and other produce. There’ll also be activities like face-painting for kids.

Adoption Drive

With more than 20 dogs up for adoption, you might just find a dog to give a forever home to. But remember: Adopt, don’t shop.

This event run by ladies, for ladies is back again for the fourth time, offering everything from apparel to food and crafts to organic products. Grab a few of your buds and make it a girls’ day out.
