LOOP is a month-long lifestyle festival featuring local craft and wellness experiences that champions sustainability awareness. Open to the public starting Dec 1, this plastic-free pop-up experience will be held on the grounds of Esplanade Park, which will bring together over 100 local craft makers, food and beverage vendors and even household and beauty companies that focuses on eco-friendly products. Counting over 100 films from 44 countries, the 29th Singapore Film Festival 2018 has plenty to offer and you’ll be spoilt for choices. To commemorate the event, the cast and director of Cities of Last Things will grace the red carpet of the opening of the premiere tonight at Capitol Theatre, together with local stars like Fiona Xie, Benjamin Kheng, Alaric Tay, Adele Wong, Jimmy Taenaka, Constance Lau, Amy Cheng, Jason Godfrey, Sheila Sim; musicians Lioncityboy, Aisyah Aziz, Mark Chua and Lam Li Shuen of ARE; and Singaporean filmmakers, Boo Jun Feng, Royston Tan, Tan Pin Pin, Kris Ong, and Alvin Lee, among others.

Culture Cartel

Culture Cartel is Asia’s first all-encompassing street culture convention, where the different sectors of art, toys, tattoo, and fashion come together in a consumer trade show. Co-organised by Habitual, Axis Group Asia and Division Communications, the event will take place from 1 – 2 December 2018 at Singapore’s F1 Pit Building, and will feature live talks, beatboxing workshops, public artworks, live graffiti, fashion collaboration among others.

The curation of the exhibitions is led by Invasion Studios by Jahan Loh (for Art), Jackson Aw of Mighty Jaxx (for Toys); Augustine Nezumi of Singapore Electric (for Tattoo); and Mandeep Chopra of Limited Edt (for Fashion), featuring convention headliners Stash (US), Joshua Vides (US), Jason Freeny (US), Whatshisname (UK), and Alex Face (TH), showcasing for the first time in Singapore.

Members-club 1880 will open its doors to the public on Dec 3, Monday for a special edition festive Christmas shopping pop up – The 1880 General Store Preview Party. Guests can indulge in an evening of champagne and music as they browse The 1880 General Store, a curated festive marketplace featuring an eclectic mix of products from local businesses and passion projects from 1880members. The pop up will feature some of Singapore’s best homegrown brands including artisanal aromatherapy goods from Mmerci Encore, designer handbags from House of Sheens and fragrances from Singapore Perfume Label Scent by Six – among others.
