The first weekend of May has a lot to offer with a wide range of events happening around Singapore. Sing along with Dua Lipa as she performs songs from her debut album; join the Rebellion or the dark side in the Star Wars Run; or, admire giant flowers at Gardens by the Bay. This weekend promises to be an enjoyable one.

British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa is coming back to Singapore for a one-night-only performance in her first full concert here. The pop sensation will belt out songs from her self-titled debut album, which includes smash hit singles ‘Be the One’, ‘New Rules’ and ‘IDGAF’.

La Nuit in the Lion City

This world-renowned signature party promises the best of music, food and design by combining the best of Parisian nightlife with our local culture. Enjoy the night with experimental cocktails, and the collaborative beats of French DJ Stephane Pompougnac and local DJ Kaylova.

Star Wars Day: May the 4th Be With You Festival

Look forward to two days filled with all things Star Wars at the second edition of this festival. The annual celebration of the movie franchise will feature Star Wars-themed activities, interactions, food and beverages. Highlights of the festival include a Star Wars movie marathon at the race village, a pewtersmithing workshop and a chance to meet with the founder of the international Star Wars costuming organisation 501st Legion, Albin Johnson.

The festival will culminate with the Star Wars Run Singapore 2018 on 5 May. Categories for the run include the 540m Young Jedi Dash (sold out), the 10km Star Wars Run (Competitive) and the 5.4km Star Wars Run (Non-competitive).

Profusion of Colours

This art exhibition showcases the breathtaking art pieces of individuals with special needs. The exhibition celebrates the empowerment of people with special needs through the arts and aims to encourage an inclusive society for them. Visitors can look forward to seeing the artworks of renowned athlete and painter Gregory Burns, artist Joshua Tang and artist Eugene Soh. The public have the option of purchasing the art pieces.

Tulipmania 2018

Walk among massive tulips and admire the colourful and bright flora, including the Yellow Flight and Irene Parrot, at this exhibition. The exhibition features more than 90,000 tulips from over 40 varieties and takes on a quirky spin with the flowers set in a town filled with ‘giants’.

Shakespeare In The Park: Julius Caesar

Catch the remake of this Shakespearean political thriller where leaders of Rome meet and discover who their true allies are. Expect to see international relations, current affairs and modern-day politics infused into this play directed by Guy Unsworth. Theatre veteran Jo Kukathas will star as Julius Caesar in this play alongside Daniel Jenkins, Ghafir Akbar, Thomas Pang and Julie Wee.
