Calling all francophiles! The annual French festival is back, launching with an evening of festivities at Gardens by the Bay – including the Asia premiere of The Rock’s Clown, a performance featuring the hilarious antics of Jean Lambert-Wild’s white-faced clown and Singapore comedian Hossan Leong. Visitors can also check out the the official opening of the exhibition Touched by the Cold, where they will experience the serene yet dangerous coldness of the Arctic through the art of photography.

Sembang About ‘Gender’

This forum will look at concepts of “gender” in Southeast Asia from the perspectives of various communities in the Malay region, in particular, the Bugis community. Invited speakers include Okky Madasari from the Department of Malay Studies of the National University of Singapore and Indonesian filmmaker Kiki Febriyanti. They will discuss how the concept of gender is portrayed in different mediums as well as how they are performed in societies.
