The last weekend of April sees a flurry of events taking place around Singapore, from the HSBC Singapore Rugby 7s to taking part in a slew of activities at Keep Clean, Singapore! 2018. If you’re a sports fan or if you’re just looking to have a good time, there is an event for everyone.
Singapore Chinese Film Festival
Catch screenings of various Chinese films across multiple genres throughout the 10-day festival. Watch some of Hong Kong singer-actor Leslie Cheung’s most famous works as the festival screens his films in tribute to the actor, who dies in 2003. Enjoy talks from festival guests as they cover topics ranging from biographical documentaries to crafting one’s first feature film. Festival guests include Singaporean actor Choo Houren, Malaysia film director Saw Teong Hin and Cantonese cinema icon Chapman To.

Netflix and Woof
Meet dogs awaiting their forever homes in this adoption drive event. Animal lovers can spend the evening by treating their pets to a caricature drawing and enjoying a picnic-style screening of ‘Benji’ together with their pets and family.

Yiruma Live in Singapore 2018
Korean pianist and composer Yiruma returns to Singapore for a one-night only performance, featuring signature classics such as ‘River Flows in You’ and ‘Kiss the Rain’. The musician is also set to play pieces from his latest album ‘f r a m e’.

HSBC Singapore Rugby 7s
Witness the world’s top 16 rugby nations competing against one another here in Singapore. Be entertained with roving performers, face painters and fairground games at the site. Spectators may also attend the after-party for free.

Income Eco Run 2018
The eco run advocates for environmental conservation and aims to encourage everyone to play a part in supporting the cause. Race categories include the 21.2km Half Marathon, the 10km Competitive, the 10km Mixed Team and the 5km Fun Run. Tickets for the 1.2km Kids Dash and the 800m Kids Dash categories are sold out.

Keep Clean, Singapore! 2018
Spend your Sunday morning with the inaugural Public Hygiene Council (PHC) walk. Treat yourself to fun family activities at a carnival held at the end of the walk. The carnival will feature highlights such as life-sized playsets, stilt walkers and a farmer’s market. Take part in mass fitness sessions, including aerobics, Zumba and urban street cycling challenges. Attendees are also given the exclusive opportunity to meet with players from the Singapore Premier League as they enjoy the food and entertainment on offer.

DBS Marina Regatta 2018: Eat Like A Champion
Learn how to prepare ‘Nasi Lemak’ and ‘Milo Dino’ from May Yim Schooling – the mother of Singaporean swimmer Joseph Schooling – as she cooks some of his son’s favourite dishes using healthy ingredients from the kitchen in the Road to Regatta.
