Weekend guide (25-27 August): Puma Night Run, Foo Fighters concert

This weekend is shaping up to be yet another exciting one, with something for everyone. Fitness buffs can challenge themselves in a number of runs and races, while fans of Foo Fighters and Wakin Chau can get ready to scream their lungs out. There are also fairs for parents and working adults.

1. Puma Night Run 2017

Are you in need of a heart-pumping adrenaline rush? The Puma Night Run returns this year with two different categories: 6km and 12km. Racers get to bring home a Puma towel, finisher medal and personalised race bib, among other freebies. A lucky draw will also be held.

2. Foo Fighters in Concert

Expect a night of singing along to your favourite tunes from American rock band Foo Fighters as they perform in Singapore this weekend with hit songs including “Everlong”, “Best of You” and “My Hero”. The band, which was formed in 1994, has won 11 Grammys and sold 25 million records to date.

3. Wakin Chau 2017 World Tour

Another artiste who will be gracing our shores this weekend is Hong Kong star Wakin Chau. Prepare to sing your heart out to a string of melodies and songs by the venerable icon. Some of his popular classics include “Nothing will stop me from loving you”, “My Flowery Heart” and “Friends”.

4. Singapore MX 2017 Beach Race

Yup, you read that right. Singapore’s first-ever Japanese lifestyle expo will showcase a wide range of Japanese cosmetics, food and fashion. Keep a lookout for stage performances such as a cooking demonstration and traditional arts performance. There will also be cultural experiences that you can take part in.

6. Rise & Shine Festival 2017

Rise & Shine Festival is the best attended ‘edu-fun’ fest, promising families a great weekend. There will be non-stop activities, entertainment and contests for children to participate in and amuse themselves with at the different experience zones throughout the day. 9. Young Talents Project 2017 Grand Finals

The grand finals see the top 10 contestants perform on the harp, yang qin and piano, and one young talent will impress with her vocal prowess. 10. LEGO NINJAGO Challenge

11. 87% – Multiculturalism in Singapore

12. Akashic Records Intermediate Workshop
