Art Day Out! x The School Holidays Edition 2018

Families can look forward to this special school holiday edition of the Gillman Barracks open house. On top of seeing new outdoor artworks, families will also be able to participate in family-friendly programmes and engage in a variety of art activities designed for visitors for all ages. This includes Creative Collaboration, an interactive art-making activity in which participants will learn to create artworks that explore colour, movement and mark-marking.

Visit exhibition openings as well such as EYE-POP!, which will engage visitors about the world we live in, and Residencies: Open, which will give visitors the rare chance to explore the studios and view works-in-progress by its Artists-in-Residence.

FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Singapore 2018

Witness the best sports action between elite and professional beach volleyball players from around the world as these players compete against each another to gain a spot in the FIVB World Championship Games to be held in Hamburg, Germany. Spectators can also look forward to a line-up of entertainers at the competition’s after-parties.

Raya at Istana Kampong Glam

Celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with your friends and family in this annual open house. Apart from enjoying performances on display, learn more about Singapore history and Hari Raya at the site through taking part in a variety of programmes on offer.

#FilterLife Weekend Festival

Head down to this two-day festival of Peranakan-inspired performances and activities through media such as photography and film. Go on gallery tours about Peranakan culture, as well as dress up and take photos at the vintage photo studio. Explore hand-tinting, which is considered a “Photoshop” technique of old by some, as well.

Sake Festival Singapore 2018

Attend one of the biggest sake showcases in Southeast Asia and experience the different types of sakes as well as other alcoholic drinks from Japan. The festival will feature over 450 labels of Japanese alcoholic drinks from around 42 sake breweries all over Japan, which includes seasonal sakes, shochu, Premium Umeshus, fruit liquors as well as a wide array of unique Japan artisanal table wares and sake cups. Brewery owners, Toji Masters and Sake Professionals, will be coming to display their best produce.

The Great Dinosaur Encounter Live Show

Embark on a dinosaur-filled adventure and be amazed by the larger-than-life friendly giants. Meet the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Raptor the Velociraptor and Baby T. Stand a chance to feed and greet these dinosaurs by being one of the first 20 families in line at the event.

Singapore Zoo’s Fragile Forest Welcomes a Flurry of Wings

The Plain Tiger, Great Eggfly, Common Mormon, and Autumn Leaf are just some of the native butterfly species now being featured at the Singapore Zoo’s Fragile Forest. Of eleven species of butterflies at the aviary, eight are native to Singapore. Not only can visitors spot the new additions as they flutter freely, they can also catch a glimpse of the Clipper butterfly, a species now extinct in Singapore.
