Weekend guide (20-22 July): Wine & Spirit Festival, Nickelodeon Slime Cup, heavy metal concert

Browse premier boutique wines and spirits at this festival market, where visitors can learn the difference between conventional, organic, biodynamic and natural wines. Visitors can also participate in a blind taste test featuring wines and spirits such as Sparkling Wine, Spumante, Cava, Prosecco, Sekt and Crémant.

Other highlights include tips on how to perfect a Rhum Agricole dessert, and hourly lucky draws offering prizes including F1 Podium Lounge night tickets and dining vouchers.

Nickelodeon Slime Cup Singapore

Head down with your children to the “slimiest sports festival in town” this weekend. Visitors can step into a giant Slimy video game through immersive activities such as “Slime Sewer Obstacle”, “Capture the Slimy Flag” and “Slime Surfing”. Other highlights include a large Slime arcade machine and a dodgeball game. Targeted at children aged four to 14, the festival promotes active living through play.

Visit this special exhibition which charts the exhibition history of the Singapore Art Museum. The exhibit features a new artwork by Singaporean artist Michael Lee, as well as an interactive component where visitors can try out their own exhibition plans. Visitors can also access a reference library of the museum’s exhibition catalogues and past publications. Not only that, there will also be workshops and specially-organised talks at the museum for visitors to attend.

The Jungle Adventure

Explore the jungles of Southeast Asia by catching this musical puppet show with your children. Featuring characters from endangered species, lively music and an action-packed plot, the show shines the spotlight on the plight of animals in the wild and the need to care for nature.

In Flames

Heavy metal fans can look forward to seeing In Flames, one of the forefathers of melodic death metal music, perform live for the first time in Singapore. Having sold millions of records worldwide, the Swedish outfit has been synonymous with the melodic death metal scene since its formation in 1990. The five-member band has released 12 studio albums thus far.

The Ugly Duckling

Great for children aged three to seven years old, this storytelling session narrates the tale of The Ugly Duckling, a story of accepting differences. Parents and their children can sing along to this classic story of a mother duck and her children. This storytelling session is in collaboration with The Storytelling Centre Limited, a local non-profit company focused on advancing the art of storytelling.
