12 May – Wayne Lai recently revealed that he will be returning to TVB soon to begin filming his newest drama.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who has not had any new drama with the company following the soon-to-be-aired "Death by Zero", shared that he will play the role of a boxer in the upcoming series, which will begin filming in September.
"I have been living presumptuously since "Death by Zero", so it looks like I have to start exercising again. It's going to be very hard," he said with a laugh.
When asked if TVB is paying him a hefty sum for his comeback, Wayne stated that the remuneration is based on the spirit of the contract. It is noted that the actor changed his long-term collaboration with TVB back in 2018 to a per-series contract.
On the other hand, the actor also admitted that he has lost some jobs since the pandemic including a cruise show with Nancy Sit.
When asked how much he had lost, Wayne laughed and said, "Eight or nine digits... no, I am kidding. We received a flat rate, but we did lose a bit. I hope everybody will be able to survive the pandemic together and return to our normal lives."
