Watch the new trailer for '24: Legacy'

Fox has released a new trailer for the revival of its "24" series, pulling back the curtain on the show's hero, Eric Carter.

Played by "Straight Outta Compton" alum Corey Hawkins, Carter is the new guy in town at the Counter Terrorist Unit.

After a team of Special Forces pulls off a successful anti-terrorist mission and thwarts an attack on America, the terrorists return to kill off the agents involved, with the exception of Carter.

Cue the race against the clock.

The original series with Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer ran for nine seasons beginning in 2001.

"24: Legacy" also stars Jimmy Smits and Miranda Otto and debuts February 5 after the Super Bowl.
