When Britt Harris found out she was expecting her first child, she was excited to share the news with her husband Chis Harris, a soldier in the U.S. Army. A week later, on August 2, he died in Afghanistan due to an improved explosive device, ABC News reports. He was 25 years old.

Since then, his fellow servicemen have made sure Britt does not feel alone during her pregnancy, and recently took part in the Harris baby's gender reveal.

"I asked if they'd like to be the first to know the gender, and they were really excited," Britt told ABC News. "I told them I would ship confetti poppers or something and they could be the first to know and feel included."

According to the Department of Defense, Chris was a part of the 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Members of Chris' squadron gathered together to film the reveal.
