Watch all the musical performances from the Oscars here

Last night’s 89th Academy Awards weren’t just an amazing celebration of the incredible movies that have been released in the last year, but the Oscars also played host to some incredible musical performances from the likes of Justin Timberlake and John Legend, too.

Every year, the songs nominated for Best Original Song get performed at the Oscars, and it’s usually an incredible affair. This year, given that one of the movie’s nominated for Best Picture was a musical, there was also a chance to see some of our favorite musical movie moments brought to life on stage.

Kicking things off for the night was Justin Timberlake, who performed a mashup of his hit song “Can’t Stop The Feeling” from the Trolls movie soundtrack and Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day.”

During his performance, Timberlake gave a shout out to Denzel Washington, and patted his former Mouseketeer buddy Ryan Gosling on the shoulder.

Introducing John Legend’s stunning medley of songs from La La Land were Legend’s cast mates, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Legend then proceeded to perform both the Best Original Song winning track “City Of Stars” from La La Land, and “Audition.”

Also performing at the Academy Awards were Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli’i Cravalho, who performed “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, with Cravalho continuing on with the performance even after she was hit by a flag.

Finally, Sting gave an emotional performance of “The Empty Chair” from Jim: The James Foley Story, a documentary that tells the heartbreaking story of journalist and war correspondent James “Jim” Foley.

The big story from Oscars night, however, was the mishap that occurred during the announcement of the winner for Best Picture. The award was, wrongly, given to La La Land before it was revealed that Moonlight had in fact won Best Picture.
