HGTV's "Brother vs. Brother" Will Return in September and Drew Scott Already Has a Huge Advantage
It's no doubt that Drew and Jonathan Scott make a great team. On Property Brothers, Property Brothers: Forever Home, and Celebrity IOU, the twin bros have combined their talents to execute some stunning home transformations. But we all know how competitive these two are. During season six of the brothers' competition series Brother vs. Brother, Jonathan took home the gold. Luckily, this new season will give Drew the chance to claim victory over his brother and already it looks like he has an advantage. Read on to learn more about season 7 of Brother vs. Brother.
What is Brother vs. Brother?
As a refresher, HGTV's Brother vs. Brother pits twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott against one another as they each buy, renovate, and resell a home during a six-week competition. Each week, the brothers will compete in small design challenges that are judged by fellow HGTV stars. However, the ultimate winner is chosen by which renovation brings in the largest profit. All the money earned from the show is given to charity.
When will season 7 of Brother vs. Brother premiere?
HGTV announced that season 7 of Brother vs. Brother will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Also, following each Wednesday night episode, HGTV's Facebook, IGTV, and HGTV.com will feature additional footage from the episode as part of new digital series Brother vs. Brother: Challenges Uncut.
What can we expect from the new season?
Season 7 of Brother vs. Brother will take place in Los Angeles' historic Hancock Park. Already, Drew might have an advantage as that’s where he and his wife, Linda Phan, currently reside in a house they renovated themselves. "We’re taking our sibling rivalry to the neighborhood where I built my honeymoon house," Drew told HGTV. "I have the home field advantage and plan to settle this once and for all with a hometown win."
In terms of the properties, "two vintage but aesthetically challenged mansions will serve as the battleground," HGTV says on its site.
What charity will Drew and Jonathan Scott contribute to?
During season 7 of Brother vs. Brother, all the money made from the home sales will go to Turn Up! Fight Hunger, a partnership created between No Kid Hungry and Discovery Inc. to combat childhood hunger. The money made during the season will result in 100,000 meals being donated.
Will Brother vs. Brother feature any guest stars?
HGTV's Breegan Jane, Maureen McCormick, Jasmine Roth, Orlando Soria, and Dan Vickery will each guest star on an episode to judge the brothers' weekly matches. The losing brother will be subject to some sort of public humiliation like being part of an embarrassing blooper reel airing on Entertainment Tonight or getting sent on a wild goose chase in Disneyland to pick up snacks for the winner. Meanwhile, the winning brother will get to take part in cool opportunities like a superhero photoshoot, an exciting stuntman experience, and a dinosaur dig at the famed LaBrea Tar Pits.
Drew and Jonathan's older brother JD will also return this season, as seen in the *intense* trailer below. However, the competition remains solely between Drew and Jonathan.
