During an interview with news.com.au the 46-year-old ‘Star Wars’ star let slip the least-surprising piece of news from the galaxy far, far away - that he will return in ‘Star Wars 8’.

“I do, yes,” he confirmed. “That’s all I can say.”

Of course, Warwick Davis is famous for his role in ‘Return of the Jedi’ where he played Princess Leia’s kindred Ewok, Wicket. This kick-started a career in film, with appearances in ‘Labyrinth’ and ‘Willow’ as well as the ‘Harry Potter’ series.

And after returning for ‘The Force Awakens’ he’s back in ‘Star Wars 8’.

“There were some wonderful moments, some moving moments,” he said about ‘The Force Awakens’. “It was full of all the action that we expect, so for me it ticked all the boxes, I loved it.”

And he even teased a little more of what’s to come…

“I think it sets up the trilogy very well,” he said. “Obviously we’re moving into the territory of Episode VIII very soon as well, and much like Empire Strikes Back I’m sure it’s going to deliver some quite impactful story moments, and it’ll leave us with some cliffhangers as well which resolve in Episode IX.”

Does Warwick Davis know more than he’s letting on?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

But whether it’s an educated guess or some behind-the-scenes knowledge, he’s right - ‘Star Wars 8’ has a long tradition to follow. And with comparisons to ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ we’re hoping it’s just as good as the classic ‘Star Wars’ sequel.

‘Star Wars 8’ heads to cinemas on 15 December 2017.
