Warner Bros. Sets Masami Takahashi as Japan President

Warner Bros. has appointed Masami Takahashi as president of Warner Bros. Japan, which has operations that span local production and distribution as well as releasing the studio’s Hollywood movies.

Takahashi replaces the veteran executive Millard Ochs who was drafted in to a temporary position in Japan from the U.S. in late 2014. Ochs, who replaced the longtime Warner Japan executive William Ireton., is expected to continue as an advisor in the near term.

Takahashi has only been with Warner Japan since August last year and had been VP of marketing. Before that he had spent 11 years with Disney.

“Japan is a vital territory for Warner Bro. and Masami is a great choice to help us continue our history of growth and success there,” said Warner CEO Kevin Tsijihara in a statement. “He’s well connected, well-respected and has a track record of creativity and innovation that will take our Japanese operations to the next level.”
