Want to take a ride in Peugeot's autonomous car?

From March, members of the public are going to get the chance to sample a self-driving PSA car for themselves.

To celebrate the fact that it has become the first carmaker granted permission by the French government to test its autonomous cars on the country's roads without an expert at the wheel, the PSA Group is going to offer customers a chance to experience the technology first hand.

The autonomous Peugeots and Citroens (the two car companies making up the PSA Group) are currently permitted to travel on 2000km of French expressways.

The Group first began testing its autonomous cars in 2015 and its fleet has clocked up 120,000km to date, exclusively on express roads. The company's ultimate aim is to bring a number of these technologies to its production cars by 2020.
