Wang Leehom fined for COVID-19 SOP violation

21 Sep – Singer-songwriter Wang Leehom has recently been fined by the Taiwanese government after failing to abide by the health management rule following his return from the US.

As reported on Singtao, the issue sparked recently, after singer Vivian Hsu shared a photo of a gathering that involved several celebrities that include Leehom, which was held to celebrate the end of his two-week quarantine.

Netizens who saw the photo immediately noted that the singer had yet to complete his seven-day self-health management that was required by the Taiwanese government after travellers are tested negative for COVID-19 following their quarantine period.

"I will strictly complete the remaining three days of self-management," he stated.

Following the backlash, Taipei's Deputy Mayor Huang Shan-shan stated that the singer will be fined an amount of NTD 150,000 for his mistake.
