Vivian Lai worries about vocal problems

16 Jan – While she is still recuperating from her previous surgery to remove a tumour in her abdomen, Hong Kong singer Vivian Lai revealed that she is now having problems with her vocal cords from having too much pressure.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who spoke to the media to promote her new song, stated that her two sons had a cold during Christmas and have yet to recover from the coughing. And now it seems that it's affecting her too.

"I realised that my voice is hoarse, and now I have to get speech therapy. It has dragged down the progress of my new album," she said.

At the same time, Vivian is also worried that her vocal problems may affect her preparation for her upcoming concert.

"Time is running out. I have a photo shoot for the album, and I also have to arrange for dance and song rehearsals. I am also working with a new team this time, so I don't know what will happen. This really has given me insomnia," she said.

Fortunately, said Vivian, she was told that the advanced bookings for her concert are going on well, so at least that's one thing she doesn't have to worry about.

Vivian's two-day concert will be held at the Hong Kong Coliseum on 5 and 6 April.
