3 Feb –Viva Artists Agency has stressed that Nadine Lustre is still under contract with their company until June 2029, no matter what the actress is made to believe.
As reported on Rappler, the company recently gave their response to Lustre's legal counsel Atty. Lorna Kapunan, who previously described Lustre's action against VIVA as "David vs. Goliath", saying that the issue was not as portrayed by the said lawyer, nor were they taking advantage of their said artiste.
"This matter is about respect – respect for the law, respect for contractual commitments, and good faith in professional relationships," said the company.
VIVA stressed that their contract with Lustre was mutually beneficial, as the company has invested a lot of time, resources, and good will towards the actress' talent and reputation that enabled her to become one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation.
"On the other hand, Nadine as VIVA's exclusive talent is obligated to abide by the terms of her agreement. This requires Nadine to appear in tapings, shows, and events; to perform roles in movies which she agreed to do; to coordinate with VIVA on projects and endorsements that would advance her career; among others. Nadine cannot simply turn her back on her contractual commitments after she received benefits as a Viva talent," it added.
They also dismissed the idea that the company has taken advantage of their young artistes, calling it a malicious and an unjustified accusation.
