Vilma Santos elated over son's engagement
17 Dec – Vilma Santos recently admitted that she was elated over the news of her son Luis Manzano's engagement with his girlfriend of four years, Jessy Mendiola.
As reported on Push, the actress-turned-congresswoman shared her thoughts on the engagement with the media recently following Manzano and Mendiola's announcement, saying that she received the news first via a photo, before the two lovebirds came to see her to show her the engagement ring themselves.
"They sent me a picture of Lucky pointing to the ring that Jess was wearing. I didn't notice it at first, and was like, "What was that?" Then they came here to the house and Jess showed the ring," she said.
Santos stated that the engagement was an answered prayer, as she had always wanted to see her son get married.
"I have been waiting for a long time. I always told Lucky that he was not getting any younger, and that I wanted him to enjoy family life," she said.
Asked what she liked about Mendiola, Santos said that the actress is a family-oriented person and really loves her son.
Manzano and Mendiola announced their engagement on social media on 12 December, two months after the actor popped the question.
