When summer is in full swing, a mid-afternoon cuppa isn’t exactly the pick-me-up we’re craving at work.

Thankfully, Australian beer giant, Victoria Bitter, has launched the perfect solution - a tea designed to taste just like a good old refreshing pint.

Produced by Carlton and United Breweries, the tea bags are non-alcoholic making it a guilt-free beverage to see you through until the end of the day.

Designed in time for the The Ashes cricket series next month, the black tea bags are blended in Australia using local vegan and gluten-free ingredients.

The drink reportedly tastes and smells like beer and can be served with or without milk.

“We know Aussies love nothing more than watching the cricket with a VB in hand,” brand director, Chris Maxwell, said. “So when the boys are in England, they'll be watching into the wee hours of the morning and need a cuppa.”

At $10 (approximately £5.65) for a box of 24 bags, it’s certainly an affordable way to fill your desk drawer with essential dunk-worthy material.

The only thing we can’t quite get on board with? The drinks company asks customers to “boycott English Breakfast” in favour of the newly-launched tea.

Now, we’re all for the boozy twist on our go-to morning boost but we’re not quite willing to give up our love of the British classic just yet.

But the limited edition tea has already proven incredibly popular and has sold out online.

Fingers crossed it comes back in stock and sharpish...
