Victoria Beckham was reportedly so upset about her husband David Beckham’s comments in a recent interview that she spent two days ‘crying’ over them.

The 44-year-old fashion designer, who has been married to the 43-year-old ex-footballer for the past 19 years, is now in Australia with David to attend the Invictus Games alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

However, their flight from London to Sydney may have been a tense journey for the pair, as it’s being reported that Victoria was less than impressed with her husband calling their marriage ‘hard work’.

“I think marriage, marriage is always about hard work,” David said in an interview with Lisa Wilkinson on The Project.

“You know your children — they want your time and they deserve your time, and we are hardworking, and we feel that that is the right way to bring up our children to prove and to show to them that actually, you have to work really hard to be successful.

“To have been married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work, everybody knows that, but you make it work, you make difficult situations like travelling away, being away from each other, you make it work.”

According to the couple’s friends, Victoria was less than impressed with her husband’s openness about their private life, claiming It was like ‘a nuclear bomb had gone off’ when the former Spice Girl heard what he had said.

“She has no idea why he would say such insensitive things and publicly embarrass her like this,” a source told The Sun.

“She was in pieces, and spent the next two days crying. To say it’s not been the best of weeks is an understatement.”

David and Victoria got married at the height of both of their fame back in 1999 and have since gone on to have four beautiful kids together, Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13 and Harper, seven.

David retired from soccer in 2013 and has subsequently been able to spend even more quality time with his children.

In fact, the British icon admitted to having become anxious about the prospect of leaving his kids for any length of time.

“I get physically ill when I have to leave the kids now,” he said in the interview on The Project.

Despite this, David – who was, perhaps, the world’s best-known soccer star during his playing days – has previously admitted to missing the thrill of competing and misses soccer ‘every day’.

The couple touched down in Sydney over the weekend to attend the Invictus Games, which David Beckham is an ambassador of.

They have since been spotted hanging out at Bondi and even catching some breakfast at The Butcher’s Block cafe in Wahroonga.
