Vicky Chan's driving license suspended following DUI

28 May – TVB actress Vicky Chan will have her driving license suspended for 12 months following her 2019 DUI case.

As reported on Mingpao, the "Come Home Love" actress, who admitted to her wrongdoing in court during the trial that was health at the Eastern Magistrate Court on 26 May, was given a minor punishment for her wrongdoing due to the fact that it was her first misdemeanour.

Vicky's lawyer also pleaded her case, saying that the actress, who won the World Performing Arts Championship last year, was an outstanding citizen who has participated in many charitable activities and even apologised for her DUI on social media following her arrest.

Her legal rep also added that she also cooperated with the police, which set a good example to others.

Aside from the temporary suspension of her license, Vicky was also fined HKD 5,000 and is required to take a driving improvement course at her own expense.

The magistrate warned that she would not be as lucky if she were to repeat the offence in the future.

Vicky was arrested for drunk driving back in October 2019, after her BMW collided with a taxi while she was driving in Happy Valley. She was later found to have a blood alcohol content of 79mg, three times the legal limit.
