Vanessa Matsunaga shares experience with COVID-19

6 Aug – Although she previously denied to have contracted COVID-19 after being hospitalised in July, Vanessa Matsunaga recently revealed that she was diagnosed with the virus soon after.

In an Instagram post. the model who has now recovered, revealed that she was originally hospitalised for an emergency appendix removal surgery, and was home a few days later only to be tested positive with COVID-19.

"The moment was scary because everything seemed so unclear. Despite of our efforts to keep me in isolation after the hospital, our biggest worry was that somehow we might have exposed the kids and the rest of our household to the virus. Thankfully everyone tested negative so we sent them to a safer place to continue their isolation away from us. It was just Jun and I that were left at home, we stayed in different rooms just in case he turned out to be negative, which later on we'd find out he did."

Matsunaga also stated that she and her husband were grateful for everything that the family had done for the kids as well as all their efforts that made the situation bearable.

"Every time I felt I was going to start developing symptoms, I called my pastor, who prayed and made me feel better and renewed. God revealed to her that He is my doctor, my medicine and my shield, that He was healing me and that no weapon formed against me and my family will ever prosper. This gave me confidence, resilience and hope. True enough, none of us developed symptoms all throughout this ordeal and since then I've had 3 negative results from PCR, rapid and blood titer. Praise God!"

The model stated that she decided to share her story to remind everybody that they are loved and cared for, even when they don't have answers to their questions and can't seem to understand why certain things happen in their lives.

"The promise of God that "no weapon formed against us shall prosper" is not exclusive, it's a promise that anyone can claim through Jesus Christ. Hope, faith and love have proven to be very handy especially in times of uncertainty. We are very grateful to all the doctors, frontliners, family and friends who were there for us! You know who you all are. All Glory to our God, whose love for us surpasses all understanding," she added.
