Each week, Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore profiles a beauty blogger that is based in Singapore. Get to know their beauty secrets and find out how you can improve your daily skincare and make-up regime. This week, we feature Chloe Teo, who runs the blog Chloe WL.
1. How did you start becoming a beauty blogger?
I started blogging about my travels, subsequently venturing into blogging about beauty-related topics. 5 years ago, the competition held by Laneige kick-started my journey in discovering K Beauty products. One thing led to another and I started to fall in love with all things beauty-related, from skincare to make-up. I feel really happy to be able to share my tips and picks on my blog and social media platforms.
2. Can you describe what a typical day is like for you?
A typical day in my new freelancer role would be to hit the gym for a yoga/pilates/core workout. After which, I will proceed for a lunch appointment with my friends before sitting down to work on beauty and travel-related content.
3. What’s your morning beauty regime?
I prefer a lighter beauty regime in the day. I start off with the COSRX Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol and Face Glow & Face Clear by Face ON Clinic before applying the tinted moisturiser from WASO Shiseido.
4. What’s your night-time beauty regime?
My night regime is similar to my morning routine, except that I follow up with either a sheet mask or ORIGINS Drink Up Intensive overnight mask. I will also add in a Lancome Genefique serum to reduce fine lines.
5. What are your current favourite beauty products? Why?
My favourite beauty products are:
Exfoliator: COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pads
Favourite lip mask: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Favourite cleansing device: Foreo cleansing device
Favourite overnight mask: Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
My favourite make-up products are:
Powder foundation: L’Oréal Infallible 24H Foundation
Lipstick colour: L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick
Liquid foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh
Blusher: Jill Stuart blusher
6. What is the most common beauty mistake you’ve heard or seen Singaporeans making? How would you wish to correct it?
The most common beauty mistake would be not checking on the shelf life of their beauty products and ending up using products which are past their expiry, resulting in acne or other problems. I hope to do a video on how to identify the expiry dates and the consequences of using expired beauty products.
7. Is there a beauty or make-up secret that you swear by?
A make-up tip I swear by to get neat eyeshadow colours on my eyes would be to use scotch tape. Simply paste it near the ends of both your eyes to create the neat cut crease. This will help to minimise the unnecessary lines or errors while applying.
8. How big is your beauty collection now?
I’m pretty much a shopaholic and have a weakness for lipsticks, blushers or anything that has a pretty and unique packaging. I once lugged back nearly 80kg of Korea skincare and make-up products. For lipsticks alone, I have nearly 150 and counting. My friends often ask me how many faces or lips I have to even collect so many lip colours. I have things strewn all over my room in a huge mess!
