Universal Studios Japan (USJ) recently announced their collaboration with the popular anime series Demon Slayer. The highlight of this collaboration was revealed to be the first ever Demon Slayer virtual reality (VR) roller coaster, named Demon Slayer XR Ride.

The unprecedented ride will feature the setting of Demon Slayer’s highly acclaimed Mugen Train movie. With the help of VR technology, riders can fully immerse themselves within the fiery and exciting battle of the protagonists Tanjiro and Rengoku against the demon.

Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train continues the story from its anime, and follows the adventure of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke. This time, they are onboard a train to assist the Flame Pillar Rengoku on a mission to hunt for a vicious demon.

In addition, existing USJ roller coaster Hollywood Dream will also present two original Demon Slayer stories, which will star both Tanjiro and Rengoku as well. The Hollywood Dream ride is known for having two tracks — one of which is front-facing, while the other is back-facing.

The Demon Slayer attraction at USJ, which will also sell Demon Slayer-themed food and merchandise, will be available for a limited period only, from 17 September 2021 to 13 February 2022. Wouldn’t it be great if travel can resume before the collaboration ends?
