SINGAPORE – Nintendo fans, you’re in for a treat!

Universal has teased details of the Super Nintendo World, due to open at Universal Studios Singapore by 2025, at its recent Super Nintendo World Global Kick Off Presentation. The attraction is due to open in Osaka this summer.

Essentially playing the Super Mario game in real life, guests can choose from six wristbands, which the attraction calls the “Power Up Band”. Each band represents a character in Nintendo’s Mario franchise: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Toad and Yoshi. These bands can be connected to a Super Nintendo World smartphone app.

With the bands, users can explore areas like Mushroom Garden, Peach’s Castle, Bowser’s Fortress and Mario Kart to take on challenges and collect coins and stamps. Players can also compete with other gamers.

Detailed touches ensure players get the full experience of the game. For instance, when you “hit” the question mark block at the park using that iconic Mario jump with one fist up, the block will light up and beep like it does in the game.

When the attraction opens at Universal Studios Singapore, it will be one of two much-anticipated new arrivals – the other one being Minion Park from the Despicable Me film franchise.
