Unifrance to Open Office in Seoul

UniFrance Film International, the French film industry’s promotion body, is to open a new office in Seoul, South Korea.

The Seoul outpost is the organization’s third in Asia — after Tokyo, Japan and Beijing, China — reflecting the importance of Asia which is now the leading export market for French films.

The office will be headed by Jeremy Segay, an Asian film specialist who was until recently the audiovisual attache at the French overseas development ministry’s bureau in Taipei, Taiwan. Segay’s remit in Seoul includes South Korea and South East Asia.

Unifrance, which is backed by two French ministries and the French Film Centre (CNC,) described the Seoul opening as apart of a corporate reorganization. It also has an office in New York.
