Ugg & Telfar’s Shearling ‘Bushwick Birkin’ May Just Break the Internet

Ugg and Telfar are kicking off their inaugural collaboration with a touch of holiday spirit.

The cozy footwear and apparel label is joining forces with the cult-favorite New York-based brand for a reimagination of Telfar’s must-have bags. Dropping both a Medium and Small Shopper, the Telfar x Ugg 24-hour-only pre-sale event kicks off on Monday, Nov. 30 at 9:00 am ET; through the link shop.telfar.net, this pre-sale will be the only way to secure one of the exclusive bags.

The new bags incorporate the signature shearling lining from Ugg’s designs and balances it out with a Chestnut suede upper atop a recognizable Telfar tote silhouette. Fans who are able to secure a brand-new bag from the collaboration will receive two packages after purchase: the first comes in the form of a Telfar Christmas card arriving before Christmas Eve and the second will be the bag itself, guaranteed to be delivered between March and Juneteenth 2021.

The Telfar bag and its adorned logo grew to prominence in recent months as the designs, deemed the “Bushwick Birkin,” blew up the fashion and accessories scene. The styles sell out within minutes after every release, oftentimes even crashing the brand’s website before fans can nab a bag for themselves.

Telfar first announced its collaborative efforts with Ugg in September of this year. After winning the Accessories Designer of the Year prize on Sept. 14 at the 2020 CFDA Awards, the brand’s designer Telfar Clemens revealed that he would be working with Ugg for 2021.

“I have made unofficial, unauthorized Ugg boots in two shows already dating back to 2010. So, I’ve always been obsessed with a certain kind of ubiquity and when something really unique ends up on everybody,” explained Clemens in a press release on the announcement. “What I want to do is get down to the DNA of UGG and see what genes we have in common. To get down to the core of that feeling. I find UGG really sexy—a soft kind of rugged.”

In addition to accessories, the Telfar x Ugg collections are set to include apparel and potentially a footwear element as well.
