‘Twin Peaks’ Teaser Features Composer Angelo Badalamenti’s Theme Music

Haunting. Unsettling. Foreboding. Showtime has dropped a new teaser for Twin Peaks, the follow-up to David Lynch’s cult ABC series, featuring composer Angelo Badalamenti and his Grammy-winning theme music from the original series. Badalamenti is returning to score the follow-up series.

Badalamenti has had a longtime collaboration with Lynch. In addition to receiving the Grammy Award for the theme music of the original series, the “Soundtrack Album from Twin Peaks” achieved gold status in 25 countries. Badalamenti has also received three Emmy nominations for the original series, as well as Golden Globe nominations for Lynch’s films The Straight Story and Mulholland Drive.

The new Showtime series picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The new Twin Peaks is written and produced by series creators and executive producers Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by Lynch.

The teaser will premiere on October 1 during the Dexter marathon, celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the original Showtime series.

The new Twin Peaks will premiere on Showtime in 2017.
