Another day, another reboot: NBC has given a script commitment plus penalty to The Italian Job, a potential series inspired by the 1969 film of the same name and the 2003 remake, which starred Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron, our sister site Deadline reports.

The drama project — written/executive produced by Rob Weiss (Entourage, Ballers) and Benjamin Brand (Bollywood Hero) — is described as “a noisy, sexy thrill ride” about a makeshift family of expert criminals who are forced out of retirement when an opportunity arises to get their beloved patriarch out of jail.
The group’s central figure is charming ex-con Charlie Croker — the role played by Wahlberg, and Michael Caine before him — who tried to go straight, but can’t resist the adrenaline rush of the high-stakes heist world.

* The 2017 Tony Awards will be broadcast live Sunday, June 11 on CBS.
* History will mark Veterans Day with a four-hour marathon of its original docuseries The Warfighters, about U.S. Special Operations Forces missions in the global war on terror. The program, which is executive produced by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), officially premieres Nov. 11.
