TVB rumoured to add new clause in future contracts

8 Jul – Rumour has it that TVB is drafting a new clause in its original contract to ensure good behaviour among its artistes.

As reported on Mingpao, sources recently claimed that with the Hong Kong National Security Law in place and more mainland platforms calling for collaborations, the company is going to be be more strict towards any bad actions and illegal activities including prostitution, gambling, drug use, and "divisive opinion".

The new clause will ensure that the artistes will have to bear all the financial and moral responsibilities for their misdeeds should their scandal impact the projects they are in.

Among those who will be seeing the new clause soon is Nancy Wu, who may renew her contract with the company in the near future.

It is noted that the company had faced several issues in recent years following the misbehaviour of its artistes, from Jacqueline Wong's scandal with married singer Andy Hui, Hugo Wong being accused of impregnating his mainland fan, Ashley Chu and Jackson Lai's affair, as well as Ali Lee's supposed political stance.

When asked to comment on the supposed new clause, Jacqueline only replied, "I have no response. Thank you for your concern."
