TVB announces two upcoming projects with iQiyi, Tencent
26 Aug - TVB has recently announced two of its upcoming big budget projects with mainland internet giants, iQiyi and Tencent.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the Hong Kong broadcaster revealed the news at the 2016 China International Film & TV Programs Exhibition held in Beijing recently, and revealed that they will begin filming "Line Walker 2" and "At the Threshold of a New Era".
"Line Walker 2" will pick up where the hit Jazz Boon 2014 drama left off, and will mark the return of Michael Miu's character, Cheuk Hoi, the Chief Inspector of CIB who was tasked to find the mole among his fellow deceased Chief Inspector's undercover agents.
The other aforementioned project, which will mark TVB and iQiyi's collaboration, is inspired by Jonathan Chik's 2000 drama, "At the Treshold of an Era".
Over HKD100 million will be invested in both projects, largely for overseas filming and new technology.
Both dramas will also be promoted as TVB's 50th anniversary drama of 2017.
