TVB adds extra measures in pandemic prevention

27 Jul – After announcing that TVB City will be closing down its building for two days after singer Zaina Sze and four others were tested positive for coronavirus, the broadcaster recently revealed that they have now added several new pandemic prevention measures.

As reported on Mingpao, the Publicity Division of TVB's Corporate Communications Department released a statement to the media recently, which stated that all employees and artistes must wear masks at all times both indoors (such as offices, conference rooms, and public corridors) and in public spaces (including cafes and restaurants).

"In addition, employees must always wear masks when taking staff buses and are strictly prohibited from eating and drinking in the vehicle," it added.

In addition, TVB also prohibited the media from conducting interviews for the time being, as they will continue to implement large-scale disinfection throughout the company.

The result of this new measure could be seen at the taping of a variety programme in TVB City recently, where all attending artistes including Edwin Siu, Hubert Wu, and Hana Kuk were seen in their face masks as they sing and play games throughout the show.

The prevention measures were ignited last weekend, when singer Zaina Sze, her manager Apple, promoter Ah Jia, and actor Robert Mak were all diagnosed with COVID-19. The result came only after the singer visited several places including Metro Radio and TVB City.
