‘Turner and Hooch’ Gets Series Order at Disney+, Josh Peck to Star
Disney+ has officially given a 12-episode series order to its “Turner & Hooch” series, which is now set to star “Drake & Josh” star Josh Peck.
The series is based on the 1989 film of the same name, which starred Tom Hanks.
The project, which comes from “Burn Notice” creator Matt Nix and 20th Century Fox TV — where Nix has an overall deal — was put into development in December. It will be a television adaptation of the original 1980s-era buddy cop movie.

Peck will play Hanks’ original role of US Marshall Scott Turner.
Here is the official logline from Disney+: “When an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshall inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the pet he didn’t want may be the partner he needs.”
Post “Drake & Josh,” Peck has appeared in coming-of-age film “Locating Silver Lake” opposite Finn Wittrock, as well as Netflix comedy “Take The 10” opposite Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen and Tony Revolori, and in Dan Fogelman’s “Danny Collins” with Al Pacino, Annette Bening, and Jennifer Garner. He’s also starred as John Stamos’ son in Fox’s “Grandfathered.”

The former Nickelodeon star has only grown his popularity and relevance to popular culture since his time as the awkward and more mild-mannered brother of Drake Bell in “Drake & Josh.” He currently hosts his own podcast, “Curious with Josh Peck,” and has a large presence on social media.
Nix writes and executive produces with Josh Levy (“Bones”), who serves as co-executive producer.
