These are truly the perfect homemade buttermilk pancakes

Everyone knows that pancakes are the most classic breakfast food, and in this episode of ITK: Eats, we’re showing you the best recipe for buttermilk pancakes. Whether you make them as a weekend treat or a regular part of your routine, these pancakes are the best way to start your morning.

Instructions

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt

  • 2 1/2 cups buttermilk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1. To make the batter: Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Then, add in buttermilk, vanilla extract, eggs and butter and whisk until combined.

2. To cook the buttermilk pancakes: Spray a frying pan with canola oil. Ladle 1/3 cup of batter into the pan and cook for two to four minutes on each side. Serve your buttermilk pancakes topped with butter, maple syrup and fresh berries.
