Travis Scott: 'My taste in clothes and in music go hand in hand'

Travis Scott believes his taste in clothes goes "hand in hand" with his music.

The Astroworld rapper has a multi-faceted sense of style, combining sportswear with tailoring and fur coats, and revealed he takes inspiration from the work of fashion photographers David LaChapelle and Nick Knight.

“My taste in clothes and in music go hand in hand. I couldn’t make one without the other," Scott explained.

The 27-year-old worked with LaChapelle on the dark and brooding artwork for his Astroworld album, and paired up with Knight for his second album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

“I grew up admiring their work, and it’s what influences me to this day,” the father-of-one shared.

Scott, who recently split from longtime girlfriend Kylie Jenner, was handpicked by Dior Men artistic director Kim Jones to feature in his guest-edited edition of Bazaar Men, which was Harper's Bazaar's first men's magazine in more than 50 years.

The pair has established a close friendship in recent years, and Scott was excited to work with the British designer on the special issue.

“I met him in Paris when he was working at Louis Vuitton, and at some point we kind of just chopped it up,” he gushed. “Being able to work with him again on something like this is just amazing. He’s one of those creators who also influences my day-to-day life.”
