Online travel company Expedia Group is introducing a hotel stay programme for Singapore healthcare professionals, in a press release shared with Yahoo Lifestyle SEA. Under the company’s umbrella, brands such as Hotels.com and Expedia are teaming up with hotel partners to provide rooms at discounted rates for healthcare professionals to self-isolate, rest, and recuperate.

Called the Singapore Healthcare Heroes programme, healthcare professionals can start booking from today onwards, with check-in dates up to and including 31 May 2020. Fourteen properties have joined in to support and assist healthcare professionals with their temporary accommodation needs.

The 14 partner hotels are: Bliss Hotel Singapore, Champion Hotel, Champion Hotel City, Hotel Bencoolen @ Bencoolen Street, Hotel Clover 5 Hong Kong Street, Hotel Clover 769 North Bridge Road, Louis Kienne Serviced Residences, Marrison Desker @ Little India, Marrison Hotel, Nostalgia Hotel, Park Avenue Robertson, Park Avenue Rochester, Populous @ Bugis and The Sultan.

“We understand the concern Singapore healthcare professionals have for health and safety extends to their home, and want to ensure they have a safe place to stay if they choose to provisionally distance themselves from their families and households,” said Ang Choo Pin, Senior Director for Government and Corporate Affairs, Asia, Expedia Group. “During these trying times, our brands, Expedia and Hotels.com, are keenly aware of our responsibility towards our community and industry. The Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme reflects Expedia Group’s ongoing commitment towards supporting our hotel industry partners while supporting the frontline healthcare professionals battling against COVID-19.”

The Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme extends to all COVID-19-facing healthcare professionals who are employees of hospitals, clinics, home care facilities, emergency medical services and ambulance services, as well as the Ministry of Health. A valid proof of employment with photo identification is needed to complete the booking.
