‘Trainspotting 2’ Teaser Reunites Ewan McGregor, Danny Boyle And Iggy Pop’s ‘Lust For Life’
The boys are back in town. Ewan McGregor and Danny Boyle are reunited along with Iggy Pop’s iconic Lust for Life anthem in the teaser trailer for Trainspotting 2. Some 20 years after the original film brought a misfit group of Edinburgh-based junkies to global prominence and launched the international career of both McGregor and filmmaker Boyle, the gang have gotten together for another slice of Irvine Welsh’s deliciously black world. Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller and Ewen Bremner join in the fun with the original screenwriter John Hodge also back in the fray.
The teaser has the adrenaline-filled sound of Iggy Pop’s Lust for Life break through the sounds of a train passing through tracks- geddit, tracks, veins, heroin etc.This time, however, instead of the hyperkinetic opening of the first film, our four protagonists stand still in the background as their characters are introduced, along with that familiar day-glo orange colour scheme that made the first poster a mainstay of college dorm rooms across the UK and possibly beyond.
Sony Tristar is releasing the film. Film4 developed and co-financed with regular Boyle collaborator Christian Colson producing alongside Bernard Bellow and Andrew Macdonald.
